Season 3 of Marvel's "What If?" will have a new writer.

The MCU's first step into animated material was Marvel Studios' What If...?, which took well-known storylines and turned them on their heads. However, reviews of the nine-episode first season of the show were very inconsistent. While the general notion proved to be well received, several viewers expressed displeasure with the animation style, tempo, and degree of detail.

What if...? has a third season already known to be in development and a second season coming to Disney+ in early 2023. The goal of Marvel Studios' numerous initiatives is often to give fans what they want to see. For this reason, Reed Richards in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was played by John Krasinski. The fact that fans weren't very excited about more of the animated Marvel program couldn't have escaped the attention of Marvel's upper management.

What if...?

What if...? Season 3 is getting a new head writer.

A.C. Bradley, the show's main writer, said on Twitter that Season 2 will be her final season on the project. Bradley replied to a tweet from the official Marvel Studios Twitter account that announced the second season: "This is my final project!! It’s been an adventure. All my love to our brilliant cast & crew! Can’t wait for the world to see our work!"

Season 3 of the animated Marvel series is already well underway, as was already known, although a new head writer has not yet been named. However, when he told the crowd at San Diego Comic-Con that, "We keep pushing the envelope of what’s possible in the multiverse,” series director Bryan Andrews appeared to have indicated that he would be working on the show's third season.

Why the Change in What If Writers?

The first season of What If...? generated a lot of controversy among fans, as was mentioned at the beginning of the article. Perhaps Marvel has considered this and chosen to hire someone else in place of A.C. Bradley as a writer?

It's also important to note that many animated television series often generate two seasons in advance of going on to a third. Bradley, who also served as a writer for Ms. Marvel Season 1, may have just decided to leave her position when her obligations were finished.

Or perhaps she just wanted to move on to another project at a different firm, which is also extremely probable. The scriptwriting profession can move extremely quickly, so it's certainly conceivable that Bradley got recruited away to create a different series.

What If...? from Marvel Studios is currently available in its entirety on Disney+, with the second season following in 2023.
